Information and data from the field of elder mistreatment are still limited. The MEJCC serves to bridge the gap between direct services and academic research. Field-based experience serves to inform academics and their research to contribute to a holistic approach to processes.
Core Functions

  • Provide the coordination, capacity, and resources to gather comprehensive data that determines the scope and impact of elder abuse in Michigan.
  • Engage academic institutions in collaborative efforts and research studies.
  • Gather information about best practices at state and national levels.
  • Engage network partners with creating a platform for defining elder abuse.
